Marquez answers Criticism of his Strength Coach

Juan Manuel Marquez
Unified Lightweight champion Juan Manuel "El Dinamita" Marquez answers during Wednesday's media conference call to questions issue relating his controversial strength and conditioning coach, Angel Hernandez.

Hernandez is also known as Angel Heredia which has some reports of giving blood-booster EPO, growth hormone and insulin to a track star. He also sold banned substances in the past.

Marquez (53-5-1, 39 KOs) said he has no idea of Hernandez's past when he hired the man to assist his  trainer Nacho Beristain for his Nov. 12 clash with Manny Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38 KOs). Some personalities reacted with Marquez's move including Floyd Mayweather Jr's advisor Leonard Ellerbe and Victor Conte, BALCO founder.

Here are responses of Marquez and Beristain during the conference call:

Juan Manuel Marquez

On whether or not Conte's comments about Hernandez have created a distraction:

"It has not. You know, Conte can speak to whatever he wants. It's his opinion, it's not a fact. I think the lawyers will have their hands on that case. As for me, I'm just preparing myself to get ready for a fight. If he can't present some facts, then maybe we'll have attorneys take care of that."

On how he met Hernandez, what he knew about his past, and whether the revelations about him will change anything, moving forward:

"I just knew that he had trained a lot of elite and world class athletes before I met him. We talked about what we needed to do. I was very happy with what he told me that I needed to do. I think that he's been a very professional guy.

"We've gotten along very well together. I think that the things that have been said about him by Conte and [Manny Pacquiao's strength coach Alex] Ariza, I think that those are legal issues that [Hernandez] is going to have to deal with. I'm just preparing myself to fight."

Can Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 Revive Boxing?

Pacquiao vs Marquez 3
Manny Pacquiao expressed assurance to his fans worldwide that the third encounter with rival Mexican superstar Juan Manuel Marquez is for sure a blockbuster and action-pack rumble on November 12. Two more weeks to go before the said boxing match in Las Vegas and we fans are excitedly waiting for it.

Pacman's words of assurance has big impact on boxing because of the falling interest on the sports after few major fights flopped to bring excitement and less entertaining to the boxing fans.

Big fights that did not go well to the paying fans include Mayweather vs Ortiz last September 17. The fight ended  very controversial after Mayweather released a powerful 1-2 combination to finished unprepared Ortiz. The man was trying to apologize of what he did to Mayweather and his guard down that time.

Another high-profile fight that stained boxing was Hopkins vs Dawson last October 15. The ending was very disappointing because the video showed that Dawson pushed Hopkins but the referee ruled the TKO in favor of Chad. Weeks after the bout, WBC ruled it as technical draw where Hopkins is still the champion.

Lastly, the highly promoted boxing match Donaire vs Narvaez last October 22 in New York. It lacks action because Omar Narvaez was not engaging toe-by-toe with Nonito Donaire.

Can Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 really revive boxing on Nov. 12?

Get yourselves ready boxing fans because Pacquiao is ready to go against Marquez. Who will win? The answers for our question will be answered on the fight night. So, don't miss Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 live stream on Pay-Per-View (PPV) beginning at 9 PM ET/6PM PT via HBO Sports.
